The Villageois design is inspired by the past and adapted to the current life. Our designs range from traditional, classic to simply elegant transitional style, are inspired by old world styles creating a warm and homogeneous environment.

We choosed red oak, maple and cherry the most sophisticated wood from North America. Our wood is kiln dried to reduce the moisture content, ensuring a product that is resistant from warping and shrinkage. Each plank and panels are assessed for beauty of grain or natural defects before cutting to determine its best use.

Attention to detail and talented craftsperson are what set our furniture apart. Since we began creating furniture in 1969, we have added technological advances to our process but have retained the age-old techniques of the cabinetmakers. The beauty of our furniture is a result of the skilled workmanship of our workers.

All our pieces of furniture are assembled manually to ensure the alignment of doors and drawers. Design features such as floating panels allow the interior panel of a door to float within the frame, accomodate wood natural reaction to climate changes of shrinking and swelling. The traditional assembly of multi-dovetail drawer create a stronger and longer lasting bond on drawer.

Stain is applied and hand-rubbed to allow the color to penetrate into the wood, rather than lay on the surface. This gives our finishes a rich depth of color and enhances the natural characteristics of the wood. The individuality of each piece comes through, depending on the direction of the grain, the hardeness and the texture of the wood, making each piece unique. The multiple-step finishing process, which includes, UV catalysed lacquer, ensures the finish will keep its protective qualities for years to come.
